Summary
On 12 June 2024, the Hon, Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy (the Minister), granted to Walloons Coal Seam Gas Company Pty Limited (Walloons) a conditional Ministerial exemption (the Exemption) pursuant to sections 61, 63 and 65 of the Competition and Consumer (Gas Market Code) Regulations 2023 (the Code). The Exemption relates to the price rules in Division 2 of Part 4 of the Code.
The Minister granted the Exemption in response to an application from Walloons.
The exemption period commenced on 12 June 2024 and ends on 31 December 2027, if each milestone is achieved or waived by its corresponding milestone date, or on 31 December 2025 if any such milestone is not achieved and not waived by its corresponding milestone date (as per Schedule 2 of the Decision Notice).
