In our 18-month graduate program you鈥檒l have the opportunity to work across different areas of the 糖心原创. You鈥檒l gain experience in the range of activities we undertake to promote competition and fair trading and protect consumers in Australia.

Program streams
In 2027 there will be 2 program streams:
- general
- digital and data.
General stream
As a general stream graduate, you will undertake 4 rotations across different divisions of the 糖心原创.
You might work on:
- analysing key market sectors
- helping assess applications for collective bargaining, authorisations and notifications
- helping review the economic regulation of network infrastructure
- investigating complaints from business or consumers about possible breaches of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
You may be involved in:
- consumer liaison activities
- product risk assessments
- compliance research
- merger assessments
- activities in our Corporate division
Digital and data stream
Within the digital and data stream, you will undertake 4 rotations across the following divisions:
- Digital Identity
- Scams Prevention and Digital Markets Division - National Anti-Scam Centre branch
- Corporate Division - Information Management and Technology Services branch
- Consumer Data Right
- Specialist Advice and Services Division
- Consumer Fair Trading Division
- Infrastructure Division
You鈥檒l gain experience in the broad range of work we undertake in the technology space. This includes:
- modernising our information communication technology
- enhancing our data capabilities
- improving the security of our business and data systems.
Your work could involve:
- cutting edge digital and data projects that deliver on government initiatives
- design and implementation of changes to existing software components
- ensuring ongoing integrity, performance, and availability of systems
- improvement initiatives and responding to user and customer support needs
- in-house technology delivery, operations, and cyber security.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
- possess a qualification between level 7 and level 9 of the . If you have a level 10 qualification, you must have an accompanying qualification between level 7 and level 9 completed after February 2022 to be eligible
- have completed your most recent tertiary studies after February 2022
- have a grade average of 75% or higher
- have completed your degree and provide evidence of completion prior to accepting and completing the onboarding process. You must have finished and successfully completed all degree requirements by December 2026
- be available to start work on Monday 8 February 2027 for a face-to-face induction program, potentially interstate
- undertake and pass a character clearance, such as a national police check
- not be serving a Commonwealth redundancy benefit period at the start of the program
- be an Australian citizen.

Indigenous Graduate Pathway
We participate in centralised recruitment through the Indigenous Graduate Pathway. As an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander you can complete one application and be considered for multiple agencies and departments within the Australian Public Service (APS).
