Summary
On 3 July 2025 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ÌÇÐÄÔ´´) issued a Public Warning Notice to warn consumers about the alleged conduct by the operator of the website .
The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has reasonable grounds to suspect the operator of the website has engaged in conduct that contravenes the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), making false or misleading representations, and engaging in misleading or deceptive conduct in contravention of the ACL, by representing that :
- is a local Melbourne store which is closing down and/or having a ‘closure’ sale which ‘ends tonight’, when this is not the case (in contravention of s 18 of the ACL);
- supplies clothing of a higher standard, quality, value, grade or composition than it actually does (in contravention of s 29(1)(a) of the ACL); and
- supplies clothing originating from a local Melbourne store, when this is not the case (in contravention of s 29(1)(k) of the ACL).
