This guidance is designed to promote better selling practices by gas retailers supplying commercial and industrial (C&I) users in the east coast. It focuses on:

  • good faith
  • offer processes
  • risk allocation
  • spot market linked products
  • transparency.

The guidance aims to:

  • encourage a more customer-centric approach to selling practices
  • strengthen retailers’ accountability
  • improve transparency, understanding, and comparability of offers, and decision-making by C&I users
  • improve the bargaining position of C&I users by allowing them to make more informed decisions and provide sufficient time to consider offers.

This guidance was developed as part of the 2017-2030 gas inquiry.
