The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has completed its seventh annual report on the state of the rural water sector in the Murray-Darling Basin. The report provides information for the 2015-16 financial year on:

  • charges for water planning and management activities undertaken by Basin State departments and water authorities
  • trends in charges for rural water infrastructure services
  • transformation, termination and trade for off-river operators
  • compliance with the water rules enforced by the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´.

The report forms the key part of the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s monitoring and reporting obligations under the Water Act 2007.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ invites stakeholders to submit any comments, feedback or questions on the report to the Water inbox: water@accc.gov.au.

Monitoring approach and assumptions

This technical guide accompanies the Water Monitoring Report 2015–16. It sets out: the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s approach to monitoring; the assumptions used for the calculation of hypothetical bills (including the schedule of charges for each operator included in the report); and the main WPM charges levied by Basin State governments and local water authorities. It also includes additional information which supports the analysis presented in the report.
