Report to the Australian Senate on anti-competitive and other practices by health funds and providers in relation to private health insurance
This report provides an update on competition and consumer issues in the private health insurance industry between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.
On 22 July 2025, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ released its fourth report as required under the Competition and Consumer (Prices Monitoring—General Insurance Policies) Direction 2022.
The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ has been directed to monitor the prices, costs, and profits of home, contents, strata, and certain commercial insurance policies, before and after the government’s cyclone reinsurance pool was introduced.
On 1 February 2024 the Australian Government directed the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ to conduct an inquiry into Australia’s supermarket sector.
The final report addresses key issues identified in the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s interim report, and analysed during the second phase of the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s inquiry. It also presents the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´â€™s recommendations to the government.

On 19 September 2024, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ released its third report as required under the Competition and Consumer (Price Monitoring—General Insurance Policies) Direction 2022.
The Compliance and Enforcement Policy sets out the principles adopted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ÌÇÐÄÔ´´) to achieve compliance with the law.
