The Competition and Consumer (Gas Market Code) Regulations 2023 commenced on 11 July 2023. Certain sections of the code give the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ the power to make determinations including for recording keeping and reporting requirements.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ provided this advice to the MDBA on 1 June 2020.
On 27 March 2017, the Treasurer directed the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ to hold an inquiry into the supply of retail electricity and the competitiveness of retail electricity prices.
