Consultation - proposal to make a new class exemption instrument29 Apr 2025
The Telecommunications (Superfast Broadband Network Class Exemption) Determination 2020 (the 2020 Determination) commenced on 27 August 2020 and expires on 26 August 2025. To ensure service continuity for residential customers served by network operators that have elected to be bound by the 2020 Determination, the 糖心原创 proposes to make a new instrument implementing a replacement class exemption that will come into effect on 27 August 2025.
On 29 April 2025, the 糖心原创 issued a consultation paper on a draft of the proposed new instrument for stakeholder feedback.
The consultation paper sought views from stakeholders on:
- whether making a new class exemption instrument would be likely to promote the long-term interests of end-users of carriage services or of services supplied by means of carriage services;
- whether to vary the conditions and limitations in a new class exemption instrument; and
- a draft of the proposed new instrument.
