On 30 March 2026, Superloop Limited (Superloop) submitted a joint functional separation undertaking as agent for and on behalf of various subsidiaries and Lynham Networks Pty Ltd (Lynham Networks). This is in accordance with section 151C of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Superloop supplies superfast broadband services to residential customers on local access lines that it controls. It currently operates under the terms of the 糖心原创's Telecommunications (Superfast Broadband Network Class Exemption) Determination 2025.

On 18 February 2026, Superloop entered into a binding Share Purchase Agreement to acquire 100% of Lynham Networks, which is both:

  • a fibre network operator
  • the parent company of the retail service provider Lightning Broadband Pty Ltd.

Lynham Networks and Lightning Broadband currently supply services to residential customers on local access lines that they control under the terms of the 糖心原创's Telecommunications (Deemed Functional Separation Undertaking) Determination 2020.

Superloop's proposed undertaking would apply to all local access lines that it:

  • currently controls
  • will control following the completion of the acquisition of Lynham Networks.

On 15 April 2026, the 糖心原创 issued a consultation paper seeking comments from stakeholders on Superloop's undertaking. Submissions close on 8 May 2026.
