Undertakings - Canberra, Darwin and Hobart2 Nov 2018

On 30 October 2018, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ received three new access undertakings in relation to the commencement of Digital Radio services in Canberra, Darwin and Hobart. The 3 undertakings lodged by the joint venture companies (JVCs) in each licence area (i.e. Canberra, Darwin and Hobart) are essentially identical.

On 19 November 2018, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ released a consultation and position paper to seek stakeholders’ views on the degree to which the undertakings meet the legislative requirements, and under those, the decision-making criteria developed by the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´.

The due date for submissions was 17 December 2018.

After consultation with stakeholders the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ invited subsequent submissions from the commercial broadcasters and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia in February 2019.

On 13 March 2019 the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ accepted, under section 118NF of the Radiocommunications Act 1992, the proposed access undertakings for Canberra, Darwin and Hobart.
