You can generally choose which payment types to accept including cash. Customers must be made aware of the types of payments available and the total minimum price payable.
There are new cash payment rules for some supermarkets and fuel retailers that are required to accept cash if they meet the criteria.
You must provide a receipt for anything that costs more than $75, and for anything under $75 if a customer asks for one. A receipt can be a GST tax invoice, cash register docket, hand-written document, or a digital receipt.
